Ashish Kumar Singh’s research interest consists of broader domains of democratization, electoral politics and rights based programmes. His current research looks at the triangulation of media, society and politics in India. His previous researches have covered land rights, education, gender equality and community media in India.
Before joining IGPP, Ashish has worked with three academic institutes in India- Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai (TISS); Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) and Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA) in capacity of a researcher. He has also worked with a variety of human rights organizations in different capacities.
He holds two Master degrees in Social Sciences, one in International Social Welfare and Health Policy from Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Sciences, Oslo, Norway and another in Social Entrepreneurship from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, India. He has written two books on MGNREGA and Community Radio Stations in India respectively. Ashish also contributes to different national and international news and views websites regularly.
