About the Role
IGPP is looking for an enthusiastic project manager to support IGPP’s tech policy research related program and stakeholder-engagement activities. The role will involve working across research, content development, program coordination, stakeholder outreach, communications and knowledge management. The selected candidate will be expected to take ownership of tasks from initial research and content development through to outreach, engagement, documentation and follow-up. This is an execution-oriented role suited to someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced policy and research environment, managing multiple priorities and engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Research & Analysis
- Conduct desk research on policy, governance, technology and development-related issues.
- Research emerging technologies, policy developments, program, institutions and relevant use cases.
- Analyse information from government documents, reports, research papers, databases, news sources and other credible sources.
- Prepare concise research notes, backgrounders and briefing documents.
- Identify emerging trends, developments and opportunities relevant to ongoing IGPP projects.
- Translate research findings into actionable insights for program development and stakeholder engagement.
- Maintain research databases and source repositories.
Content Development
Develop high-quality content for internal, stakeholder and public-facing purposes, including: policy briefs and research notes, concept notes, background papers, briefing documents, presentation decks, reports and summaries, event and program material, stakeholder communication material and post-event and engagement documentation.
Stakeholder Outreach & Engagement
Support the end-to-end process of engaging with external stakeholders, including policymakers, parliamentarians, government officials, academics, industry representatives, researchers, start-ups, civil society organisations and other institutional partners. Responsibilities will include:
- Identifying relevant stakeholders and developing outreach lists.
- Conducting background research on stakeholders before engagement.
- Drafting emails, invitations, WhatsApp messages and other communication.
- Coordinating meetings and engagement sessions.
- Preparing agendas, briefing notes and discussion questions.
- Maintaining stakeholder databases.
- Following up after meetings and engagements.
- Recording key discussion points, requirements and agreed next steps.
- Ensuring that stakeholder conversations translate into concrete follow-up actions.
Program Coordination
Support the planning and execution of multiple ongoing projects and initiatives. This will include:
- Developing and maintaining project trackers.
- Breaking larger projects into tasks, milestones and deliverables.
- Tracking deadlines and dependencies.
- Coordinating with internal team members and external stakeholders.
- Preparing weekly work plans and progress updates.
- Monitoring project deliverables.
- Identifying delays, risks and bottlenecks.
- Following up with relevant team members.
- Maintaining project documentation.
- Supporting the preparation of project dashboards and one-page project summaries.
- The candidate should be able to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
Event & Meeting Management
Support the planning and execution of meetings, roundtables, workshops, conferences, briefings and other institutional engagements. Responsibilities may include:
- Developing event concepts and session structures.
- Preparing guest and participant lists.
- Conducting speaker research.
- Drafting invitations and communication material.
- Coordinating with speakers and participants.
- Preparing briefing documents and presentations.
- Managing meeting logistics.
- Supporting event-day coordination.
- Documenting discussions.
- Preparing post-event communication and follow-up.
- Tracking potential partnerships and opportunities emerging from events.
Communications & Visibility
Strengthen the visibility of IGPP's research and program. Responsibilities may include:
- Developing social-media content and captions.
- Identifying research and program insights that can be converted into public-facing content.
- Developing promotional material for events and program.
- Preparing post-event communication.
- Coordinating with designers, editors and video teams.
- Ensuring consistency and accuracy across communication outputs.
Required Skills and Qualifications
A postgraduate degree in one of the following areas would be preferred:
- Public Policy
- Political Science
- Management
- Communications
- Journalism
- Economics
- Law
- Development Studies
- Technology Policy
- Business Administration
Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a specific academic background.
